The European producer of wooden boards Kronospan has invested 200 million euros in a new production line of particle board in the Rivne region. About 60% of the products will be exported to the EU and the USA. This is reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. It is noted that Kronospan, one of Ukraine’s largest manufacturers of chipboards, laminated chipboard, oriented strand board (OSB) and countertops, has launched a new line for the production of OSB boards in the Rivne region. Investments in the new production amount to 200 million euros, most of the products are planned to be exported to the EU and the USA. Advertising: According to the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko, during 20 years of operation in Ukraine, Kronospan has invested almost 1 billion euros in Ukrainian production , of which 563 million goes to the plant in the Rivne region. Currently, the company employs almost 800 specialists.Advertisement: The company also initiated the creation of an industrial park, where they plan to form a furniture cluster around the plant for the production of wooden boards. 47 million euros have already been invested in the park’s preparatory works and infrastructure, of which 34 million euros were spent during the war. According to the head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Koval, the new production is 800,000 sq. m of slabs per year, of which 60% will be exported to the European Union and the USA. Thus, the total amount of investments in the plant is 563 million euros. According to Koval, the enterprise is part of the international corporation Kronospan (Austria). At the same time, it is one of the leaders of the Rivne furniture cluster. We will remind: the Export Credit Agency of Ukraine (ECA) in January-October 2024 increased export support by a third – to 6.59 billion UAH compared to 4.99 billion UAH for the same period last year.
