Blackouts will continue to apply in Ukraine electricity. However, the situation may improve soon. Although there are no guarantees, maybe in a few weeks the outage schedules will no longer be so frequent.
Vitaliy Zaichenko, head of JSC “Ukrenergo”, expressed restrained optimism regarding the reduction of power outages. However, he immediately added that there are no assurances that the situation with outages will improve. Power outage schedules are necessary for the power system to function in a balanced manner, so that it is possible to somehow protect it.
“I cannot guarantee that the situation will improve in the next few days and we will not have to restrict consumers. We are forced to do this in order to preserve the energy system,” Zaichenko said.
He noted that looking ahead over the next few weeks, power outages may not become as severe. The situation may stabilize soon. It is assumed that the situation in the Ukrainian energy system has a tendency to improve, and a significant one at that.
“But if we talk about the perspective of a few weeks, then the situation should noticeably improve in the energy system,” the head of Ukrenergo emphasized.
Turning off the lights in winter The publication “EP” reported that power outages in the winter of 2025-2026 may be significantly longer than in the previous two years. Probably, Ukrainians will be without electricity for 8-12 hours. Such a forecast is the most pessimistic. The reason was superpowerful attacks on the country’s power system, as a result of which our state lost one gigawatt of electricity. As a result, there was a huge shortage of electricity, even though there are no frosts yet.
Sources of the publication reported that there are various scenarios of power outages in winter. At worst, Ukrainians will be without electricity for up to half a day. Energy experts have admitted that it is not possible to quickly restore energy equipment damaged by Russian attacks.
As you know, on November 8, PJSC “Centrenergo” announced that it had lost the Trypil TPP and the Zmiiv TPP. Both do not produce electricity anymore, generation is zero. Specialists emphasized that the enemy had again destroyed the equipment that had been restored for months.
Meanwhile, power outages in Kyiv have decreased somewhat. Now residents of the capital are not cut off for eight hours, but only for four. This is the progress and forecast for November 13.
At the same time, the situation is worse in Kharkiv Oblast due to Russian strikes. For example, on November 11, after the shelling of the occupiers, Lozova was left without heat. Emergency power outage schedules were also introduced in the city.
