Fraudsters deceive drivers

Fraudsters spread messages through social networks and messengers about the chance to receive a promotional code for gasoline for registering on the Telegram channel. But according to loud calls, it is not a benefit at all, but a danger to lose access to personal profiles. This is reported by the Cyber Police.

How does the scheme work?

  • The message contains a link to a phishing platform designed as the official website of the gas station.
The platform offers to subscribe to the Telegram channel and get a promo code for free fuel.
  • Then the user is transferred to another fraudulent platform, where they are required to enter a mobile number and a confirmation code from SMS or Telegram.
  • After entering information, attackers gain access to the user’s profile and send new fake messages from it.
  • Scammers terminate the user’s current session and enable two-factor authentication. As a result, a person loses control over his profile.
  • Don’t be fooled:

    • Verify information through official sources.
    • Do not click on dubious links.
    • Control the websites where you enter personal data.

On behalf of OKKO, SOCAR, UPG gas stations, scammers offer to receive 10 liters of gasoline for free Criminals posted an ad on social networks about the alleged opportunity to get 10 liters of fuel at OKKO, SOCAR, UPG gas stations for joining the TG channel. This is not true! The whistleblower explains why you don’t even need to open these links.

The first thing to do after seeing an incredibly attractive offer is to go to the official websites of the companies. But on the websites of the OKKO, SOCAR, UPG networks, in the “promotions” section, we do not find similar attractions of generosity. Moreover! When we went to the page from which this ad was posted, we were very impressed. At first, the scammers tried to create a believable page, and then something went wrong. The platforms were filled with frank abracadabra.
