This happened after the US imposed sanctions on this bank.The Russian propaganda agency TASS writes that after the introduction of restrictions, nine countries have already stopped serving UnionPay cards issued by Gazprombank.
In particular, cooperation was refused in:
- Hungary;
- Vietnamese;
- Germany;
- Kazakhstani;
- Qatar;
- Turkey;
- UAE;
- Thailand.
In addition, problems with Gazprombank cards in China were reported. It is noted that the customer was unable to withdraw money from the ICBC ATM.
US sanctions against Gazprombank – – main newsWashington imposed sanctions against one of the largest banks of the Russian Federation. The reason was that Moscow used it for the purchase of military equipment and payments to military personnel and their families.
