At a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi at the White House, US President Joe Biden said that “Russia will not win the war against Ukraine.”
“During the meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, you shared the preliminary details of your victory plan – this is exactly what we will discuss today, how to give Ukraine the upper hand in this conflict,” Biden said during the live broadcast.
According to him, he sees “two key components”.
First, the strengthening of Ukraine’s position on the battlefield. So, the US president announced a new package of security assistance worth 2.4 billion dollars.
Secondly, to help Ukraine in the long term on the way to membership in the EU and NATO.
“We must ensure that Ukraine has sufficient capabilities to defend against Russian aggression in the future. More than 20 countries have already signed agreements on security guarantees with Ukraine,” the US president added.
He also guaranteed that the US would support Ukraine “now and in the future.”
“Russia will not win the war. Ukraine will win. And we will continue to support you along the way,” Biden said.
On September 26, the resident of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived at the White House to meet with US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
As Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself has repeatedly emphasized and Western media have written in numerous articles, today’s meeting with Joe Biden in the White House may be of decisive importance for the further course of the war with Russia and the Ukrainian strategy for ending it.
Earlier on September 26, Zelensky arrived at the Capitol, where he presented a victory plan to Democratic and Republican senators.
The Pentagon also announced the list of weapons included in the $2.4 billion aid package to Ukraine.
