Ukraine has frozen part of the assets of the main oligarch of Transnistria, Viktor Gushan, co-founder of the Sherif holding.
This is evidenced by the Zona de Securitate investigation.
“The decision to freeze Gushan’s assets was made after the prosecutor’s office established that companies related to him supplied goods and services for the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation,” the investigation says.
The journalists refer to the decision of the Ukrainian court, from which it follows that structures close to Gushan were connected with Russian military production, in particular through the Moldavizolit plant in unrecognized Transnistria. Ukrainian investigators claim that during the war this plant played an important role in the supply of materials for Russia’s defense industry.
The investigation also reveals the key persons involved in this mechanism, the method of creation of intermediary companies in the Russian Federation and direct connections that probably lead to the Sherif holding.
“Ukraine is continuing the investigation, and measures to freeze assets remain in effect throughout the process,” the material states.
The Sherif holding practically monopolized the economy of Transnistria, controlling trade, the oil market, telecommunications and mass media. The company owns the mobile operator “Interdnestrkom”, the Tiraspol wine and brandy plant, the bank “Agroprombank”, the textile factory “Tyrotex”, the TV channel TSV, a casino, a football club, a sports complex, a network of car dealerships and gas stations.
According to various estimates, Victor Gushan’s fortune is about 2 billion dollars.
