Ukraine denies involvement in the attack on the Midvolga 2 tanker in the Black Sea

Tykhyi also noted that the alleged route of the tanker from Russia to Georgia through Turkey’s EEZ “does not make sense and hints that Russia may have staged all of this.”

A tanker en route from Russia to Georgia with a cargo of sunflower oil reported the attack 80 miles off the coast of Turkey.

According to the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs of Turkey, there were 13 crew members on board, and there were no casualties. The damaged ship is heading to the port of Sinop. The engines remained operational and the tanker was able to continue moving.

Photos were published on social networks showing possible damage to the hull.
