Military personnel retire under conditions different from ordinary Ukrainians. Their seniority requirements are significantly different, which provides for special rules and benefits that take into account the specifics of their service.
This is stated on the portal of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
It is noted that military personnel can retire according to years of service after leaving the service, if their calendar service is 25 years or more.
“When you reach the age of 45 on the day of your release from service, if you have 25 years or more of insurance experience, of which at least 12 years and 6 months are service in the security forces,” the message reads.
Military personnel can retire on disability if it occurred during service or no later than three months after discharge. If the disability occurred later than the three-month period after discharge, this is possible only if the disease that led to the disability occurred during service.
It is important to note that in this case the seniority of the person and the length of his service are not important.
