Japan will continue to provide comprehensive support to Ukraine, including assistance in the restoration of war-contaminated agricultural lands and increasing the productivity of the agricultural sector. Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Nakagome Masashi said this in Kyiv during the international conference on food security “Grain from Ukraine”, announcing the address of the Prime Minister of Japan Shigeru Ishiba.
This is reported by “Ukrinform”.
“Japan will continue to help restore agricultural production and export capabilities of Ukraine. The Japanese government will contribute to improving productivity and approaching high standards, and will provide assistance in demining and decontamination of explosive objects on traditional agricultural lands of Ukraine,” the representative of the Japanese government emphasized.
The Japanese ambassador noted that Russian aggression against Ukraine is the main challenge for world food security. At the same time, Ukrainian agricultural production remains a lifeline for countries under food pressure and makes life easier for many people.
“I want to once again express my respect for the efforts of the Government of Ukraine and its contribution to international food security with the help of the Grain from Ukraine initiative launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Japan’s support for Ukraine remains steadfast. We will continue to work with the international community to make an active contribution to solving urgent issues and problems, including in the food sector, with the aim of achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” the Japanese ambassador emphasized on behalf of the country’s prime minister.
We will remind that Zelensky thanked the people in Brazil that most of them support Ukraine. However, at the beginning of this week, on November 18 and 19, the G20 summit was held in Brazil, where the support of our country was weak.
At the international conference on food security, President Zelenskyi said that Ukraine is interested in opening “grain houses” in African countries – so-called food preservation hubs.
Since the beginning of the operation of the export corridor in the Black Sea, 321 infrastructure objects have been damaged in Ukrainian ports as a result of Russian attacks.
In Mariupol, temporarily captured by the Russian army, the Russians are exporting coal through the seaport, continuing the looting of Ukraine’s mineral resources.
