Austrian law enforcement officers detained two citizens of Ukraine suspected of murdering a 21-year-old Ukrainian whose body was found in a burnt-out car at the end of November. The victim was the son of the deputy mayor of Kharkiv Serhiy Kuzmin.
The suspects were 19-year-old and 45-year-old Ukrainians who returned to Ukraine after the crime. They were detained at the end of November after an international manhunt.
According to the police, the attackers first attacked Kuzmin in the garage of a hotel in the center of Vienna, where they left a “large pool of blood.” Then they took the young man to another part of the city and set it on fire along with the car.
An autopsy revealed severe head trauma, knocked out teeth, and 80% burns on the body. The absence of soot particles in the lungs indicates that he died before or at the beginning of the fire.
According to the police, the motive of the crime was to obtain the password to the crypto-wallet of the deceased. The perpetrators took money from him, and when they were detained, a significant amount of cash was taken from them.
In Vienna, the body of a 21-year-old citizen of Ukraine, found in a burned-out car in the underground garage of the hotel at the end of November, has been identified. The deceased was Danylo Kuzmin, the son of Kharkiv Deputy Mayor Serhiy Kuzmin.
