Law enforcement officers exposed three schemes in the Poltava, Kharkiv and Transcarpathian regions, which were used to evade men from mobilization through enrollment in higher education institutions. The cost of such “aid” was from 2 thousand. dollars

In the Poltava region, a private university professor was exposed, who helped conscripts enter the local state university without exams, using his connections.
The investigation established that for $2,000, he provided one of the men, who was summoned to the military commissariat, with documents on admission to graduate school.
In addition, the person involved offered the men fictitious treatment in a psychoneurological dispensary, so that in the future they could “to write off” from the military records due to the state of health.
In the Kharkiv region, three local residents were exposed who were looking for men without higher education who wanted to avoid mobilization. They offered admission to the Kharkiv college in order to receive a deferment from the draft. The cost of such a “service” reached 6 thousand dollars.
The organizer of the scheme, through personal connections, made admissions without exams, using forged documents, the SBU noted.
In Uzhgorod, law enforcement officers exposed an associate professor of the local university’s history department who took bribes for illegally enrolling men of military age to study.
According to the SBU, she personally accompanied “applicants” during formal entrance exams. The cost of her “services” was 4 thousand dollars.
All those involved in the scheme were charged with suspicion. The extras are accused of violating the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- h 2 Art. 28 and h. 1 Art. 114−1 (obstruction of the legal activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations during a special period, committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy);
- h 3 Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official);
- h 2 Art. 369−2 (abuse of influence).
The suspects face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
