In the Vinnytsia region, the SBU detained an agent of the Russian Federation from the circle of blogger Lebedev “Lokhmaty”. He followed the movements of the Armed Forces, joining their columns.

This is reported by the SBU.

“Counterintelligence of the Security Service detained an FSB agent who worked for the Russian Federation in the central regions of Ukraine. The attacker was spying on the movement of military equipment of the Defense Forces in the direction of the front line,” the message reads.

Under the “sight” of the enemy were units of the Armed Forces moving along the highways of the Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions.

“In this way, the Russian special service hoped to track the movement routes of Ukrainian troops in real time in order to adjust the air strike against them,” the SBU said.

To fulfill this task, the FSB remotely recruited a 51-year-old paramedic from one of the medical institutions in the Vinnytsia region, who was “elected” because of his pro-Kremlin activity in Telegram channels.

According to the instructions of the occupiers, their agent drove his car to interregional highways, where he monitored the movement of units of the Defense Forces.

“An episode was documented when, upon discovering a military convoy, the suspect “sat on its tail” and followed it for almost 100 km. In this way, he tried to establish the route, as well as the number and types of equipment in the convoy,” the department said.

Counter-intelligence officers of the SBU timely exposed the traitor and detained him near his own residence. At the place of detention, the suspect’s mobile phone was seized, which he used to communicate with the “liaison” of the FSB – Serhiy Lebedev (better known as the blogger “Lokhmaty”) from Donetsk.

The perpetrator is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Earlier in Kyiv, an agent of the Russian military intelligence (GRU) was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The man was spying on the defense plant.

The Security Service detained an FSB agent who was operating in Chernihiv Oblast. The perpetrator adjusted rocket attacks on the regional center and prepared a series of arson attacks on Ukrzaliznytsia facilities.
