The court sentenced to 15 years in prison a Russian agent who helped adjust the fire in Kramatorsk. She collected the coordinates of Ukrainian military facilities and handed them over to supervisors from the FSB. The Security Service claims that this is the second sentence in the framework of the investigation of the Russian intelligence network.
The SBU uncovered a network of Russian agents operating in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions. In February 2024, counterintelligence conducted a special operation and detained all five members of the cell.
One of them turned out to be a 40-year-old former employee of a machine-building plant in Kramatorsk. She collected information on the location of Ukrainian command posts and logistics warehouses and transmitted it to the FSB through messengers, using maps and her own observations.
According to the investigation, the agent went around the frontline areas, monitored the accumulation of personnel and equipment, and separately from other agents prepared data for new series of airstrikes. The disclosure of her activities became possible thanks to evidence collected by the SBU and evidence that she published pro-Kremlin comments on social networks.
The court found the woman guilty under the article on treason under martial law, and in addition to 15 years of imprisonment, confiscation of property is provided for. This decision emphasizes that the SBU continues to respond effectively to the activities of enemy agents inside the country.
