Kazakhstan’s WBO and IBF middleweight world boxing champion Zhanibek Alimkhanuli (16-0, 11 KOs) passed a positive doping test, The Ring journalist Mike Coppinger reports.

As a result, the middleweight unification bout between the Kazakh and WBA title holder Erislandi Lara is in danger of being scrapped – Lara could defend his belt against another opponent.

The fight between Zhanibek Alimkhanula and Erislandi Lara is scheduled to take place on December 6, 2025 in San Antonio (United States of America).
