Oleksiy Chernyshov was served with a petition for arrest / photo facebook.com/oleksiy.chernyshovThe National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) handed the former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, who was previously suspected of illegal enrichment in the case of embezzlement at Energoatom, a petition to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention. This was reported in the press service of NABU.
According to the investigation, the exhibitor was among the visitors of the so-called “laundry room” – a place where money obtained through crime was legalized.
“This facility was under the control of the head of a criminal organization exposed by NABU and SAP the day before. Detectives documented the transfer to the suspect and his confidant of more than 1.2 million US dollars and almost 100,000 euros in cash,” they said.
They reminded that the exhibitor is already suspected by NABU and SAP of abusing his official position and obtaining an unlawful benefit in a particularly large amount.
It is worth noting that despite the fact that the name of the deputy prime minister is not mentioned, the circumstances point to Oleksiy Chernyshov, who is called “Che Guevara” in the records published by NABU by those involved in the corruption case at “Energoatom”.
Operation “Midas” – the latest newsPreviously, NABU director Semyon Krivonos disclosed new details of the Midas operation, which exposed a large-scale embezzlement of state funds in the energy sector, and expressed confidence that one of the participants in the case – businessman Timur Mindych – will be tried in Ukraine.
