From January 1, 2026, the minimum wage in Ukraine will be increased to 8,647 hryvnias per month and 52 hryvnias per hour when paid by the hour.
This is the first increase in the minimum wage after 2023, laid down in the draft Law on the State Budget for 2026, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada.
The new wage rates should help workers withstand high inflation and economic instability.
It is planned that in 2027 and 2028, the minimum wage will increase further, and eventually exceed the mark of 10,000 hryvnias. The changes will not be limited only to the amount of wages – they will also affect social and financial mechanisms.
In particular, the single social contribution for individual entrepreneurs will increase, the limits for the simplified taxation system will change.
The update of the minimum wage will also affect the calculation of unemployment benefits, sick leave and maternity benefits. In addition, fines for violations of labor legislation will increase, because their amount is tied to the minimum wage.
We will remind you that the real wages of Ukrainians fell to the pre-war level.
The government also planned to raise the minimum wage in the draft state budget for 2026.
