Barcelona have identified England captain Harry Kane as their top transfer target to replace Robert Lewandowski. The Polish forward is expected to leave Camp Nou as a free agent in the summer of 2026 when his contract expires.

According to The Guardian, Barcelona have put 32-year-old Kane at the top of their list of desired players. Despite his age, the Englishman has been in phenomenal form for Bayern, scoring 108 goals in 113 appearances since joining from Tottenham and winning the Bundesliga title last season.

Kane’s contract with Munich includes a £57m buyout clause, which Barca could be preparing to activate. The search for a new striker is linked to Lewandowski’s future.

The veteran has had to put up with reduced playing time due to injuries this season, although he remains the team’s top scorer with seven goals in nine La Liga appearances.

Lewandowski himself stated that he has not yet decided on his future:

“I still don’t know the answer. That’s why I’m not in a hurry, I’m at peace with myself,” the attacker emphasized.

Kane is not the only candidate on Barcelona’s list. Due to ongoing financial problems, the club are also looking at Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez and Etta Eyong as a more budget-friendly option. Meanwhile, president Joan Laporta reportedly remains obsessed with signing Erling Holland.

As for Kane himself, he has previously stated that he is happy at Bayern and is ready to discuss a new contract:

“I have almost two years left on my contract. I think the club is satisfied with me, and I am satisfied with it,” the forward concluded.
