– How important is it for Ukraine to go to the World Cup?
– This is extremely important. First, we have to represent our country on the international arena, and also remind the world about Ukraine. Secondly, this is a great sporting achievement. We went to the World Cup only once – in 2006, when we lost to Italy at the quarter-final stage.
Now it is worth repeating this success. It will be a victory not only for the players, but also for the entire football community, because such results push the development of the sport.
– Is this goal related to the result against France?
– The match against France is always a challenge of the highest level. We have two decisive matches ahead of us, which will give us a chance for either direct qualification or entry into the playoffs, Shevchenko said.
