The goalkeeper of Zhytomyr Polissia Yevhenii Volynets was included in the team, who shared his emotions from his return and expectations for future matches.
“I was already in the national team once, but it is very nice that I received a call again. I am satisfied that I am here. I found out about the call before the match with Metalist 1925 — Oleksiy Hutsuliak said that there was a message in the group. And then the national team administrator called me. The reaction was, of course, positive. I am very happy.
Before that, I was called up to the national team three years ago. Of course there are changes. New coach, some players. But I know almost all of them, so there are no problems. Three years ago, I came from another club (Kovaly Kolos. — ed. note), there were no teammates in the national team. Now it’s easier, they help a little. Oleksiy Hutsuliak advised to hold on – they say, everything will be fine. In general, the club congratulated me and said that I deserved it.
There is no Mandrazh before the matches with France and Iceland. As for my expectations, now I am only interested in a positive result,” Volynets is quoted as saying official website of the UAF.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian national team will play two final matches in the selection for the 2026 World Cup: on November 13 at 21:45 against France and on November 16 at 19:00 against Iceland.
