From December, the maximum capacity available for importing electricity to Ukraine and Moldova from the neighboring states of the European Union will increase to 2,300 MW.
Vitaliy Zaichenko, Chairman of the Management Board of NEC “Ukrenergo”, announced this.
According to Zaichenko, the maximum available capacity is currently 2,100 MW, although it cannot be used due to the internal limitations of the power system. At the same time, for the next month, agreements were reached with European system operators to increase this amount to 2,300 MW.
The head of “Ukrenergo” emphasized that this increase will make it possible to receive help for the power system from European colleagues at any time.
In Ukraine on Wednesday, November 12, there will be from 2 to 4 scheduled power outages throughout the day.
Due to the increase in electricity consumption and shortages in the power system, on November 11, emergency shutdown schedules were introduced in several regions of Ukraine.
Blackouts in Ukraine will last for several weeks after the massive Russian attack on the night of November 7-8, as Centernergo lost all its generation.
