Chelsea striker Raheem Sterling was the victim of a burglary at his family home in Berkshire on Saturday while the 30-year-old and his children were at home.

In the comment for The Athletic Sterling’s unnamed representative confirmed the incident and noted that the footballer and his loved ones are safe:

“While this is a serious breach of privacy and security, we are grateful that all family members are safe and sound. We ask that Rahim and his family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

Thames Valley Police are currently investigating the robbery. This is the second such case for the player: the previous robbery occurred during his participation in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Sterling has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea this season. Last campaign he played on loan for Arsenal. The footballer has been training separately from the first team alongside defender Axel Disasi and the club have been unable to agree their summer transfer departure.

In 81 matches for Chelsea, Sterling scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists.
