Details: Kuznetsov began a hunger strike on October 31 to protest the conditions of his detention and the violation of his basic rights, his lawyer Nicola Canestrini said on Tuesday.

According to Canestrini, during this time the man lost weight by about 9 kilograms.
The decision to end the hunger strike was made by the Ukrainian after the Italian authorities gave assurances that his rights would be fully respected, in particular regarding proper nutrition.
“We recognize the efforts of the prison administration to constructively resolve the critical issues raised. But we must remain vigilant: respect for the rights of all prisoners is an ongoing obligation of a state governed by the rule of law,” Canestrini said.
Serhiy Kuznetsov is currently in custody pending an appeal against the decision to extradite him to Germany. There, he is believed to be involved in planting explosive devices on the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022.
He was charged with conspiracy to cause an explosion, anti-constitutional sabotage and destruction of important buildings.
According to The Wall Street Journal, German investigators believe that the group of Ukrainians who allegedly blew up “Nordic Streams” acted under the leadership of the then Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny.
