The prayer service on the square in front of the basilica was headed by the Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Svyatoslav, in the co -operation of the Apostolic Nuncio of Wiswaldas Kulbokas and numerous bishops. Bishop Maxim Ryabukh, Bishop-Assistant of the Kiev Archdiocese, proclaimed the sermon.
“In Zarvanytsya, the open sky, as well as the heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the prayer of each of us,” Blessed Svyatoslav addressed to the faithful.
He emphasized that this night in Zarvanytsya the face of the church-martyr shines.
“It’s just like the bride – the Church of Christ – comes to his fiance. With all our dreams, requests, anxieties … Today we come first with the prayer of gratitude, ”he added.
Within the framework of the Mary Spiritual Center “Zarvanytsya”, another landmark event took place-the repayment of a special postal stamp on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky.
This ceremony was attended by His Beatitude Svyatoslav, the Apostolic Nuncio Nuncio Kulbokas, Metropolitan of Ternopil-Zborivsky Theodore Martyniuk.
We will remind, the Cossack mail released a commemorative envelope, a brand and a postcard-icon with the prayer of Metropolitan Andrei for Ukraine, and the illustration was created by Ternopil artist Igor Zelinko with the support of patron Vladimir Baleshchuk.
Artists Oleg and Natalia Kinali worked on the design of postal materials, who not only created images, but also described each envelope manually.
Zarvanytsya once again became not only a place of spiritual power, but also a space for cultural memory, prayers for Ukraine and honoring the great figures of our church.
