US Congress approved three cryptocurrency laws

The document has been submitted to President Donald Trump – it can be the first large -scale cryptocurrency law in US history.

In general, congressmen supported three legislative initiatives related to digital assets. Support from both parties was significantly higher than analysts expected.

Voting Results:

• Clarity ACT, which forms a general regulatory frame for the industry, was supported by 294 legislators against 134. Among them – 78 Democrats, which twice exceeded the forecasts;
• Genius Act, dedicated to the rules for steiblcoins, received 308 votes for “for” and 122 “against”. The initiative was supported by 102 Democrats;
• Anti-CBDC Act, directed against the launch of a digital dollar from the Central Bank, was with a minimum advantage: 219 votes in favor and 210 against.

On July 15, the House failed the preliminary attempt to promote Genius Act with the score of 196–223 due to the concern of the Republicans regarding the fuzzy attitude of the law to the CBDC. On July 17, after personal intervention by US President Donald Trump Genius, Clarity and Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act, they missed the final vote.
