IN financial sphere The sanctions will be concerned:
- extension of existing SWIFT sanctions to a complete ban on transactions, with the inclusion of another 22 Russian banks – which will almost double the list;
- Prohibitions on transactions with the Russian direct investment fund, its investments and financial institutions that support these investments. 4 Russian companies were made under sanctions.
- Depending of criteria for sanctions against financial and credit institutions in third countries with the assistance of the Russian Federation in bypassing sanctions, including oil, and supporting its OPC.
IN trade sphere:
- sanctions against another 26 companies forpassing sanctions, including 11 outside Russia – seven companies in China, three in Hong Kong, four in Turkey;
- additional export prohibitions to complicate the Russian Federation of access to technologies used in the OPC, including machines used in the production of “Iskander”;
- expanding the ban on transit to new types of goods used in construction, transport and energy;
- Exported prohibition (the list has been supplemented by some machine -building products, chemical industry, some metals and plastics).
Prehistory:
- On the morning of July 18, the EU Permanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) approved a long-suffering 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia, which could not be agreed for a long time because of Slovakia and Malta.
- On the evening of July 17, both countries informed the EU Council that they were ready to refuse blocking.
- The package includes sanctions against 105 shadow fleet vessels, reducing the price ceiling for Russian oil and measures against banks and companies outside the Russian Federation, which are involved in the support of its military machine.
