France considers the opportunity to use Ukrainian minerals for the production of military equipment.

It is noted that the statement was made at the moment when Ukraine and the United States approached the conclusion of the mineral agreement, and this will cause the visit of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to Washington on Friday, February 28.
According to Lecorny, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy raised the topic of Ukrainian minerals during his visit to Paris. He made “a number of proposals not only the US but also France,” the Minister of Defense said.
“Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team saw that the issue of raw materials could be one of the elements of negotiation with us to create endurance. So, President Trump (US President Donald Trump, – Ed.) Not fully invented, because the Ukrainians themselves did,” the minister said.
As he said, it is considered the opportunity to use Ukrainian minerals for the production of military equipment.
“Our defense industry will require a number of very key raw materials in our own weapons not next year, but the next 30 or 40 years,” Lecorton evaluated.
And so, says Minister, President Emmanuel Macron asked him to negotiate with Ukraine about minerals.
“Whether we want it or not, economic issues are always intertwined with military, strategic or security. In any case, this is especially true of energy,” he said.

At the same time, according to the media, Zelensky does not plan to sign an economic agreement with the United States, which should go beyond the framework on minerals, which will not have a broader security guarantee for Ukraine.
