The police of the Kherson region establishes the circumstances of a traffic accident, which resulted in the killed cyclist-the department said this evening on February 26.

According to the department, the accident happened about 6pm in the post-Pokrovsky, a 50-year-old man was killed.

“According to preliminary information, the driver of the Renault Megan car, who is the deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, during the movement of the M-14 Odesa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk, committed a cyclist who made a departure from the minor road and crossed the roadway. As a result of the adventure, the steering wheel of a two -wheeled vehicle suffered injuries that are incompatible with life, ”the police said.

Investigators of the regional department of Kherson region work at the scene. The car was seized and placed on the arresting ground.

Law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings and asked for witnesses to contact the police.

Earlier, the head of the regional military administration Alexander Proudin reported the accident “with the participation of an employee of the Kherson Ova”, through which a person was killed. He added that he expects the official findings of law enforcement officers, and the expressions of his condolences to his relatives of the deceased.
