In total, 249 344 Ukrainians became ill with SARS on February 17 to February 23, with 249 344 Ukrainians, which is 20% more than the previous week, the Ministry of Health reports.
Currently, the epidemic threshold has been recorded (the incidence rate on the basis of which they can be calculated whether we can already speak about the epidemic or not yet) in three regions: Rivne, Khmelnitsky and Chernivtsi. s
In 14 regions: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Kyiv, Kirovograd, Odessa, Poltava, Sumy, Ternopil, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions.
In Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions – the level is low. In other regions of Ukraine and in Kiev, the situation is stable – only the pre -epidemic level is registered.
Almost 7,000 people were hospitalized with complications with the country’s hospitals. The Ministry of Health specifies that this is not a critical level of hospitalization.
The Ministry of Health added that the increase in the incidence of SARS is due to the circulation of influenza viruses in 22 regions of the country. Since January, 25 fatal cases have been registered in Ukraine due to complications of the disease.
Therefore, doctors remind that vaccination is recognized in the world as one of the most effective ways to prevent and reduce the risk of severe complications of influenza and COVID-19. It is possible to make vaccination against influenza not only at the beginning, but also throughout the epidemic.
As of early February in Ukraine, 5 regions found a slight excess of the epidemic threshold due to the increase in incidence of SARS, influenza and Covid-19.
More than 30 cases of human metapneumovirus (HMPV) have been detected in Kazakhstan. The virus causes symptoms similar to Covid-19 and flu, affecting the lungs.
In the last 3-4 weeks, the incidence of SARS, influenza and Covid-19 will increase. Therefore, the hospitals will hold an additional audit of beds, said Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko
