This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk on the air of the telethon.
“Energy workers managed to preserve the integrity of the energy system and ensure its stable operation. Measures were promptly taken to contain the consequences after 11 massive shellings. From emergency shutdowns, we moved to hourly shutdown schedules, which are used to balance the power system,” Kolisnyk said.
He also emphasized that energy workers, together with specialists of the State Emergency Service, are starting restoration work as quickly as possible in order to restore electricity supply to consumers as soon as possible.
The deputy minister also added that Russia is deliberately trying to deprive Ukraine of atomic generation by attacking important substations. However, thanks to the quick and effective actions of energy workers, it was possible to avoid a catastrophic scenario.
We will remind you that on the night of November 28, Russia carried out a massive combined missile-drone attack on the Ukrainian energy industry. Out of 188 enemy targets, air defense destroyed 76 cruise missiles, 3 guided air missiles and 35 UAVs.
