Kojima told Variety about it. According to him, the film after Death Stranding will reinvent cinema and show it a new dimension:

“I aim to introduce a new dimension of cinema that goes beyond simply turning a game into a movie.”

The film behind Death Stranding is handled by the independent studio A24, known for the experimental films “Everything, Everywhere and At Once”, “MaXXXHin”, as well as the works of director Robert Eggers “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse”.

Kojima has previously said that he will participate in the creation of the Death Stranding film adaptation, but that someone else will direct it.

Although the game designer himself has a lot of experience in directing, he himself admits that his games are partly movies: “My work is often considered similar to movies, but basically I create games.”

Previously, Kojima Productions celebrated the birthday of Death Stranding. 5 years have passed since the release of the studio’s debut project, Kojima personally recorded an address where he thanked the players for such a reception of the game.
