“North Korea and Russia are sovereign and independent countries. Bilateral exchanges between them are their own business,” Mao said when asked to comment on the visit of Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov to Pyongyang and the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian war as a result of military cooperation between the DPRK and Russia.
She noted that the Chinese side has no information about the purpose and other details of Belousov’s visit to Pyongyang.
The spokeswoman of the foreign policy department added that China’s position on the Ukrainian issue remains unchanged.
