Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain and former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi said that no Western country has enough missiles to shoot down Russian guided aerial bombs.
“In October, as, in principle, and in September, somewhere I received 4,500 guided aerial bombs. I would like to point out that the KAB-500 has a warhead weight of 500 kg. The weight of the combat unit of Iskander is 480 kg. Imagine 4,500 Iskanders along the front edge. Does any European country or the same Britain have at least 5,000 Patriot missiles to shoot down these guided aerial bombs? I doubt something,” Zaluzhny said during a conversation with Ukrainian Pravda journalists.
The former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces explained that such missiles are very expensive and because of this it is impossible to produce a lot of them.
The Russians have replaced the KABs, now they fly much further – the Defense Forces of the South
“Therefore, only by this military component can we say that, apparently, they are (Western countries – ed.) are not ready (before the war with Russia — ed.),” said Zaluzhnyi.
On November 17, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that during the previous week, Russia had used 140 missiles of various types, more than 900 guided aerial bombs and more than 600 attack drones against Ukraine.
On November 10, Zelenskyi said that Russia had launched 600 attack drones, 800 anti-aircraft missiles and almost 20 missiles over Ukraine in the previous week.
On November 3, the President of Ukraine announced that over the past week, the Russian army had hit Ukraine with more than 900 bombs, launched about 30 rockets and almost 500 suicide bombers.
