Polish farmers may continue to block the Ukrainian border longer than the announced 48 hours. This was stated by the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko on the air of a telethon on Saturday, UNN reports.

Details

“The blocking started around 10 am. Now Polish farmers are blocking truck traffic near the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint. There are about 10 vehicles in line to enter Ukraine, and at the time of the road blockade, there were about 150 trucks between them and the Polish checkpoint,” Demchenko said.

According to him, Polish farmers have announced that they will not allow trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons to enter Poland.

“We are noticing that the Polish side is no longer accepting trucks traveling from Ukraine to Poland. Farmers are letting 1 truck per hour through to Ukraine… We will monitor how long this action of Polish farmers will last, as it was announced that it would last about 48 hours. However, the Polish side, according to the information provided to us, does not rule out that the action will last longer,” Demchenko said.

He added that only trucks are blocked, and cars are not affected.
