Energy workers restored one of the power lines of the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP. The station was on the verge of blackout since November 21.
This is reported by the Ministry of Energy.
Thus, power engineers restored the operation of the high-voltage overhead line connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP with the unified energy system of Ukraine, which was damaged by enemy shelling.
“During this week, the Zaporizhzhia NPP was twice on the verge of blackout due to constant enemy shelling. Currently, the work of one of the power lines of the ZNPP, which was damaged as a result of shelling, has been restored. The station will once again be able to receive electricity from two power lines,” said Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko.
At the same time, according to him, the situation at the station remains threatening.
“I emphasize once again that only the return of control over the nuclear power plant to Ukraine can guarantee the safe operation of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant,” the minister said.
As a reminder, on October 21 at 12:18, one of the two power transmission lines connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP with the unified energy system of Ukraine was disconnected due to systematic enemy shelling.
We will also remind you that on October 1, energy workers managed to restore power to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZAEP). At that time, the 330 kV overhead line was also damaged by Russian shelling.
