Ukrainian intelligence took up the case of a former soldier of the Kalinovsky regiment, who was extradited to Belarus by Vietnam

She also added that the only country that can currently help in this matter is the United States.

On November 21, Kalinovsky’s regiment offered to put Veremeychyk in the exchange fund and exchange him for a Russian. The official statement says that it is currently unknown whether Veremeychyk’s detention in Vietnam and extradition to Belarus was a KGB special operation.

On November 20, it became known about the extradition of Veremeychyk, detained in Vietnam, to Belarus.

In 2020, Vasyl Veremeychyk supported the protests in Belarus, and then left for Ukraine. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he joined Kalinovsky’s regiment.

Veremeychyk later moved to Lithuania, but was denied a residence permit because of his past service in the Belarusian army.

The man faces up to 15 years in prison for serving in Kalinovsky’s regiment (the Belarusian authorities declared it a terrorist organization).
