According to Baza, “Tafgai” played with the UFSB team in the spring. The match was tense, there was a clash between the teams. Fighting on the hockey field is a common phenomenon, and usually in such cases the most active participants are punished by hockey referees with penalty minutes (or expulsion for the rest of the game, if it is an obvious harm to health). However, this time after the competition, five players of “Tafgai” were arrested for five days and fined, and the organizers of the tournament announced their disqualification.
In June, the case received a new development: a criminal case was opened against the amateur hockey players under the article “hooliganism committed by a group of persons based on a previous conspiracy related to resistance to a representative of the authorities.” Three of them received a stay-at-home order.
On September 26, the police detained two players from the team that opposed hockey players from the FSB. The investigation asks to arrest them because they have foreign passports and may try to flee from justice.
According to the incriminated article, amateur hockey players may face up to seven years of imprisonment. On September 30, the court in Birobidzhan will announce a preventive measure for those involved in the case.
