This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

It was previously announced that a film about the occupiers is scheduled to be shown in Zurich from October 7 to 12. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately reacted sharply to the news and noted that it would do everything to isolate Russians in the cultural sphere.

The organizers listened to the request of the Ukrainians and canceled the show a few days before the start of the festival. It is also known that the director will not participate in the previously planned panel discussions of the event.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine thanks the Zurich Film Festival for its decision to cancel public screenings of the film “Russians at War”. Russia should not be present on the international cultural scene,” the message reads.

However, it later turned out that the Zurich Film Festival decided to leave the film in the competition program. Therefore, the propaganda film “Russians at War” will compete for the “Golden Eye” award with other 14 nominees.

What is known about the film “Russians at War”Propagandist Anastasia Trofimova filmed her “tape” in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. She tried to whitewash the reputation of the Russians and show the occupiers as “ordinary people who are allegedly unjustifiably called criminals and murderers.”

It is known that the film has already been shown at the Venice Film Festival. A show in Toronto was also planned. However, after mass protests and appeals from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Canadian public broadcaster TVO decided to cancel the showing of “Russians at War”.

It will be recalled that earlier a film critic named the reason why Venice watched a scandalous film about Russians at war.
