The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Slovakia, General Daniel Zmeko.
“He informed him about the course of hostilities in different directions of the front. He emphasized the violation of international humanitarian law and war crimes committed by the Russian occupiers. He spoke about the urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Syrskyi wrote on Facebook on Friday, September 27.
He said that General Zmeko’s visit is already the third during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Syrskyi thanked the government and people of Slovakia for the military-technical assistance, emphasizing the effectiveness of the use of Slovak weapons on the battlefield, and also praised the support in the training of Ukrainian units.

Syrsky and Zmeko agreed on further joint efforts to deepen the development of Ukrainian-Slovak military cooperation.
On September 18, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga suggested that Slovakia sign a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine.
