British Foreign Minister David Lammy suggests that a decision to lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of Western long-range weapons for military purposes on Russian territory may be taken before the beginning of winter.

I expect that in the coming days and weeks we will have a very strong position to provide Ukraine with all necessary as we approach this harsh winter of 2025,” he said.
In addition, the head of the British Foreign Ministry noted that the country’s intelligence data indicate that the situation for the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, will be more difficult next year.
“His economy is in a bad state. It will be very difficult for him to cope with the number of losses and victims he has suffered,” the minister emphasized.
At the same time, he noted the successes of Ukraine, in particular in the Black Sea and the Kursk region of Russia.
“Ukraine has already managed to win back half of the captured lands. It has already managed to knock Putin out of the Black Sea. It has gone on the offensive in the Kursk region and, I hope, will hold these positions. In fact, now is the moment, because we are moving from autumn to winter, when the West must demonstrate its courage and absolute commitment,” the top British diplomat added.
According to The Times, the United States and Great Britain are allegedly preparing to give Ukraine permission to use Storm Shadow missiles for strikes on Russian territory, but such an announcement will not be made public in order to preserve the element of surprise for Russia.
Recently, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed that he does not support the relaxation of restrictions on the use of German weapons by Ukraine to strike at Russian territory.
