The SBI is investigating the beating of a military man at a training ground in the Kirovohrad region

On September 26, the State Bureau of Investigation announced the opening of criminal proceedings in connection with the beating of a serviceman at a training ground in Kirovohrad Oblast.

“On September 17, 2024, during fire training classes, a conflict arose between the instructor and one of the cadets. As a result of the dispute, the official beat the serviceman with the butt of a machine gun. The cadet was hospitalized with injuries. The very next day, Bureau investigators initiated proceedings under part 5 of Art. 426-1 of the Civil Code”, the message reads.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the SBI added.

This month, the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada announced that it recorded an increase in the number of appeals in Transcarpathia due to illegal actions by employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers.

In August, the State Bureau of Investigation reported that since February 24, 2022, its employees had conducted 408 criminal proceedings related to the work of territorial recruitment and social support centers.
