Park Pripyat-Stokhid
Today, this park is a real natural treasure in the north of Ukraine, located at the village of Lyubeshiv, Bondarenka Street, 47. The park administration is located here, which organizes rafting on the Pripyat and Stokhid rivers. The rafting route runs through the crystal clear Lake Nobel, whose water remains cool even in the summer heat. The duration is about 3 hours.
Note that the park is located very close to the border with Belarus, so there are roadblocks and checks, just like at the entrance to any border zone.
Fortification buildings of the First World War
During rafting on the Pripyat River, you can make an additional stop near the fortifications of the First World War. In 1916-1917, the line of defense passed here, and this area was strategically important due to the possibility of tracking the movement of enemy troops.
Deer farm in Toykut village
Another interesting location in Volyn is the village of Toykut, because it is here that you can visit a unique deer farm. In addition to several dozen deer, there are also donkeys, a pond and several cozy houses.
Ox Eye Lake
The reservoir is located in the Kamin-Kashir district, and here it is the most mysterious lake in the region, Zabolotske — it is also called the Ox’s Eye. The lake itself is very beautiful, and the water here is extremely clean. It is interesting that this Ox’s Eye is of volcanic origin, that is, there used to be a mouth of a volcano here.
The family estate of Lesya Ukrainka
If your trip to Volyn is near the village of Kolodyazhne, Lesya Ukrainka’s family estate is a must-see. It was here that the writer spent all her childhood years. There are two small houses on the territory of the estate – Lesya herself lived in one, and her parents lived in the other. Lesya Ukrainka lived separately not only because the family was growing rapidly, but also because she had tuberculosis. A feature of the house is the swimming pool, located almost on the roof. Inside you can see things that belonged to the writer and her family. The estate was recently restored and now the location is available for tourists.
