The UN Security Council should make a decision on the creation of a Palestinian state – Macron

“France will participate in any initiative that saves lives and ensures safety for all. The deployment of the international mission should pave the way for the implementation of the two-state solution. The decision on this should be made by the Security Council of the United Nations,” Macron emphasized.

According to him, it is imperative that a new phase begins in Gaza, that the guns fall silent, that humanitarian aid returns and that the civilian population is finally protected and life there becomes possible again.

“France will do everything in its power so that the Palestinians finally get a state that lives side by side with Israel,” he added.

He promised that French diplomacy will work with the Israelis and Palestinians in the coming weeks, as well as with all regional and international partners, to finally realize the idea of ​​two states, as well as to provide Israel with all the necessary guarantees for its security.

However, for now, according to Macron, the main risk is the risk of escalation of the conflict in Lebanon.
