Lubinets says that Russia has been excluded from yet another international organization of ombudsmen. Moskalkova did not react

The General Assembly of the Association of Ombudsmen of the Mediterranean on Wednesday approved the decision to exclude the Russian ombudsman Tetiana Moskalkova from its membership, said Dmytro Lubinets, the human rights representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“This organization has been engaged in exclusion for a year and a half, in accordance with the Statute. An opportunity for explanations was provided, official appeals were sent. The main complaint against the Russian visa is that it is actually a continuation of Russian propaganda, it tells about a Russian special operation, about the alleged struggle with some neo-Nazis and that the occupation is a normal story,” the ombudsman said on the air of the national telethon.

The organization has not yet commented on this decision. Moskalkova did not respond to this either.

Lubinets noted that this is the third organization of ombudsmen to exclude Russia: the first was the International Institute of Ombudsman in August 2022, and in April 2023 the European Network of National Protection Institutes.
