The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that due to Russian attacks on infrastructure, millions of Ukrainians may be left without heat in winter.

“The Russians continue to attack our energy infrastructure. So far, the Russian Federation has destroyed our entire heat distribution and heat generation infrastructure. Potentially millions of people, millions of Ukrainians may be left without heat in winter. This is exactly what Putin wants,” he said during his speech at the UN General Assembly.

Zelenskyy once again reminded of intelligence data that Russia is planning attacks on Ukrainian nuclear power plants and their infrastructure with the aim of disconnecting the plants from the power grid.

“Any missile or drone strike, any critical incident in the energy system can lead to a nuclear disaster. Such a day should never come. And Moscow must understand this. And it also depends on your determination to put pressure on the aggressor. These are nuclear power plants. They should be safe,” he added.
